Petroleum sodium sulfonate - Introduction
Petroleum sodium sulfate, chemical formula CnH2n 1 SO3Na, is a sulfonated compound. It is a water-soluble salt of an organic acid, and the common long-chain Petronium sodium sulfate with an alkyl group is a typical representative of surfactants.
Petroleum sodium sulfate has good surface active properties and is compatible with water, so it has a wide range of applications in industry. It is commonly used as an emulsifier, lubricant, dispersant, and detergent. In the petrochemical industry, Petroleum sodium sulfate is widely used as oil field reservoir viscosifier and oil well acidifier to enhance oil recovery.
The preparation method of phosphate sodium sulfate is usually obtained by sulfonation reaction. Alkyl olefins or alkanes react with concentrated sulfuric acid in a reactor to produce the corresponding alkyl sulfonic acid, which then reacts with sodium hydroxide to produce the corresponding sodium sulfonate. The process needs to be carried out at an appropriate temperature and pressure.
When using petrulum sodium sulfate, the following points should be noted. First of all, it is an organic acid salt, which needs to avoid contact with strong oxidants and strong acids to avoid reaction. Secondly, the sodium sulfate is irritating. When using it, you should wear appropriate protective equipment to avoid contact with skin and eyes. Finally, if ingested or inhaled by mistake, you should seek medical treatment immediately.
